A 36-year-old Turkish Airlines EuroLeague rookie became the competition's oldest MVP of the Round honoree in more than 14 years when Eulis Baez led Herbalife Gran Canaria to 84-78 victory over visiting Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv on Friday. Baez scored 13 of his 16 points after halftime, making 4 of 6 two-point shots and 8 of 9 free throws. He also had a club EuroLeague record 10 rebounds, along with 4 assists, 1 steal, 1 block and 7 fouls drawn. His performance index rating of 32, the most by a Gran Canaria player yet, was also the highest of all EuroLeague players in Round 7. Baez is the oldest player to earn the honor since Arvydas Sabonis, who did so at age 39 in 2004. Two players behind Baez set new career highs with index ratings of 31 in Round 7: Edwin Jackson of Buducnost VOLI Podgorica and Aaron White of Zalgiris Kaunas. Jackson led Buducnost to a historic first EuroLeague win this decade by 99-84 win over KIROLBET Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz. Jackson matched his EuroLeague career high with 24 points by making 6 of 9 three-pointers to go with his 4 assists, 4 rebounds, 1 steal and 6 fouls drawn. Meanwhile, White had 21 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals and 9 fouls drawn in Zalgiris's 85-88 overtime loss against FC Barcelona Lassa. The fourth-best PIR of Round 7 belongs to Baskonia's Marcelinho Huertas, who posted 13 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds for an index rating 26 in his team's loss at Buducnost. Wrapping up the list of top performers in Round 7 is Kostas Papanikolaou of Olympiacos Piraeus, who accumulated an index rating of 25 by collecting 18 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist and 1 block in a home loss against Fenerbahce Istanbul.

Edwin Jackson led all scorers in Round 7 with 24 points. Alexey Shved of Khimki Moscow Region, who was missing in action due to illness, remains EuroLeague’s top scorer overall, averaging 25.8 points per game. Danilo Barthel of FC Bayern Munich was this round's best rebounder, pulling down 11 boards. Nikola Milutinov of Olympiacos and Walter Tavares of Real Madrid share the lead in the rebounds rankings with 7.1 per game. Huertas, Nick Calathes of Panathinaikos OPAP Athens and Sergio Rodriguez of CSKA Moscow led this round by each dishing 8 assists. Calathes remains the league leader in assists with 8.6 on average. AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan teammates Jeff Brooks and Mike James had 3 steals apiece to lead all players in Round 7. Calathes remains the league leader in this category with 2.1 steals per game. Rodrigue Beaubois of Anadolu Efes Istanbul had a career-high 4 blocks, more than any other player this round. Madrid's Walter Tavares remains the league leader with 2 blocks per contest. There were three double-doubles in this round. Besides the MVP Baez, Khimki Moscow Region's Jordan Mickey had 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Georgios Printezis of Olympiacos collected 10 points and 10 rebounds.
