Euroleague Basketball, ENEOS enter exciting partnership

Euroleague Basketball and Japan-based JXTG Nippon Oil & Energy, maker of ENEOS premium motor oils, are pleased to announce a joint partnership for three years starting with the 2018-19 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague basketball season. The sponsorship brings together two companies with shared ideals, including rapid growth and a sustained global presence.

ENEOS sells and markets premier motor oils, coolants, antifreezes and brake fluids; everything an automobile or motorcycle owner needs for a smooth, safe ride. Its parent company, JXTG Nippon Oil, offers petroleum products and services throughout the world and has a large presence in Europe. Through partnerships with world-class customers, JXTG Nippon Oil produces technologically advanced motor oils and transmission fluids that reduce carbon emissions, improve fuel economy and reduce wear on critical components.

JXTG Nippon Oil's European division includes official importers and distributors in more than half of the countries that are home to EuroLeague teams. These local European distributors offer ideal opportunities to bring drivers and basketball fans together.

"In ENEOS, we see a partner that strives for everything that we at Euroleague Basketball do," Jordi Bertomeu, President and CEO of Euroleague Basketball, said. "ENEOS has a sterling global reputation and is looking to constantly grow, in Europe and across the globe, by offering its customers a high-end product. We also believe in giving our fans the best entertainment and basketball value on a nightly basis and are excited to join forces with ENEOS on this journey."

A proud supporter of motorsports, including the Movistar Yamaha MotoGP team, this partnership marks JXTG Nippon Oil's first step into traditional team sports. After making a strategic decision to seek and engage with a new customer base, Euroleague Basketball was a natural choice.

"We are extremely pleased to partner with Euroleague Basketball. It is one of the most popular and fastest-growing sports leagues in Europe, which is similar to our brand ENEOS in the lubricants industry," Junichi Nakamura, European Divisional Operating Officer for ENEOS, said. "Our aim with this partnership is to increase ENEOS's brand awareness in Europe so that we can continue to grow. We are looking forward to a long and successful relationship together."
