The Crossover with Joe Arlauckas: Semifinals are here
Final Four players, legends join podcast from Vitoria-Gasteiz |
To celebrate the culmination of its first season, The Crossover podcast with Joe Arlauckas has landed in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, to take listeners closer than ever to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four. In three special-edition podcasts from the Final Four host city, Joe and his guests will take listeners step-by-step through the weekend with analysis and previews of the semifinals, championship game and, of course, the team that finishes as the kings of European club basketball on Sunday.
Arlauckas was there when the Final Four teams arrived on Wednesday to greet them at the headquarters hotel and get the latest thoughts from four players – Sergio Rodriguez of CSKA Moscow, Tibor Pleiss of Anadolu Efes Istanbul, Trey Thompkins of Real Madrid and Ali Muhammed of Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul – on the eve of the semifinals.
"It's a new season, even if it is only a weekend," Rodriguez. "It's going to be a new game, a new life and we have to all be ready."
"We had that bad taste last year, losing to Madrid," Muhammed says. "We've got to make a statement and we've got to show people we are here to win."
In between his interviews with the players, Joe takes up the conversation with Final Four ambassadors Nikola Vujcic and Michailis Kakiouzis, whose accumulation of appearances in the crowning event of the season gives them the expertise to not only analyze the teams, but to relate with what goes on in the minds of players right before the biggest games of their careers.
The Crossover with Joe Arlauckas is available on iTunes, Audioboom, Spotify, Deezer, RadioPublic, Google Podcasts, TuneIn, CastBox, Stitcher and other platforms.
Making its debut earlier this season, The Crossover with Joe Arlauckas has gone well beyond the playing court with each podcast to delve into the life experiences that have made his guests protagonists and legends of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.
The Crossover has featured some of the greats of the competition, including Vassilis Spanoulis of Olympiacos Piraeus, Nick Calathes of Panathinaikos OPAP Athens and Kyle Hines of CSKA Moscow, coaches Zeljko Obradovic of Fenerbahce, Pablo Laso of Real Madrid and David Blatt of Olympiacos, and retired stars Nikola Vujcic of Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv and Robertas Javtokas of Zalgiris Kaunas, among others.
