CSKA Moscow vs. Real Madrid
· CSKA has an 18-8 advantage over Real in their meetings this century. In Round 10, Real ran away with a 97-81 win as Gabriel Deck had a career-game with 17 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists, all career-highs.
· Last year CSKA beat Real three times in as many games, CSKA swept Madrid in the regular season and then won 95-90 in the Final Four semifinals behind 23 points apiece from Nando De Colo and Sergio Rodriguez.
· CSKA and Real have faced each other in the semifinals of the last two Final Fours. In 2018 in Belgrade, Real won and went on to win its tenth EuroLeague title. Last May, CSKA beat Real in the semis then went on to lift its eighth crown.
· CSKA and Real faced each other for the first time in the 1963 EuroLeague final. It was a two-game series; Real won Game 1 at home 86-69, but CSKA downed Los Blancos by the same margin, 91-74, in Moscow. The teams had to play a tie-breaking Game 3 in Moscow, which CSKA won 99-80.
· CSKA and Real made it to the EuroLeague final in 1965. It was a two-game series and CSKA won the opener 88-81. Real recorded a 14-point victory at home to win its second continental crown on point difference.
· In the longest single-game EuroLeague final, CSKA and Real Madrid had to battle for 50 minutes in the 1969 championship game. Vladimir Andreev had 37 points in helping CSKA beat Real in double overtime, 103-99, in Barcelona.
· In the 2017 third-place game, CSKA defeated Real 94-70. Kyle Hines led six CSKA scorers in double figures with 14 points and 7 rebounds.
· In the 2018 Final Four semifinals, Real beat CSKA 92-83 behind 16 points apiece from Luka Doncic and Sergio Llull.
· Real guard Nicolas Laprovittola was a teammate of CSKA big man Johannes Voigtmann at Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz in the second part of the 2016-17 season.
· CSKA forward Semen Antonov and Real's Trey Thompkins were teammates at Nizhny Novgorod when the club made its EuroLeague debut in 2014-15.
· Big men Nikita Kurbanov of CSKA and Anthony Randolph of Real Madrid were teammates at Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar during the 2014-15 season.
· CSKA's Mike James and Real Madrid's Fabien Causeur were teammates at Baskonia for a season and a half, from 2014 to 2016. They helped the team reach the 2016 EuroLeague Final Four together.
· Real Madrid guard Fabien Causeur was a teammate of Olympiacos sharpshooter Janis Strelnieks at Brose Bamberg for the 2016-17 season.
· James posted 27 points, shooting a perfect 6-for-6 from three-point range, playing for Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz against Madrid in April 2016. No player has hit as many three-pointers without a miss since then.
· Playing for Brose Bamberg against Real Madrid, Strelnieks set his career-high in assists with 8 in January 2017 and posted his career-high in steals with 4 in February 2016.
· Real point guard Facundo Campazzo scored a career-high 23 points against CSKA in Round 10 last season.
· Rudy Fernandez set a career-high with 28 points against CSKA in March 2014. He accumulated a performance index rating of 33 and earned MVP honors for Round 11 of the Top 16 with that effort in a 93-79 win.
· Fernandez collected a career-best 13 rebounds against CSKA in January 2013. He was also named MVP for Round 6 of the 2012-13 Top 16 following that performance in which he scored 20 points and had a PIR of 34 as CSKA won 86-78 in overtime.
