Darussafaka and Buducnost met for the first time in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague in Round 2, clash Darussafaka won 71-63 with Zanis Peiners leading the winners with 15 points.
The two teams faced off in the 7DAYS EuroCup Quarterfinals last season. Darussafaka swept the best-of-three series by holding on to win 57-54 at home in Game 1 and then defeating Buducnost on the road 71-78 in Game 2.
There are six Darussafaka players (Stanton Kidd, Kartal Ozmizrak, Muhammed Baygul, Emircan Kosut, Dogus Ozdemiroglu and Michael Eric) and eight Buducnost players (Nikola Ivanovic, Suad Sehovic, Sead Sehovic, Milic Starovlah, Nemanja Gordic, Aleksa Ilic, Petar Popovic and Danilo Nikolic) who were a part of last season’s EuroCup quarterfinal series.
Jeremy Evans, playing in his first EuroLeague season, pulled down a season-high 12 rebounds in a Round 2 win.
