7DAYS EuroCup Quarterfinals Game 2 MVP: Dmitry Kulagin, Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar
Not only did Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar remain undefeated after 18 games to reach the 7DAYS EuroCup Semifinals on Friday, but star guard Dmitry Kulagin became the quarterfinals Game 2 MVP by posting the highest performance index rating among players on winning teams. Kulagin collected a pair personal bests in Lokomotiv's resounding 59-80 road win over Herbalife Gran Canaria in Game 2. He finished the game with 32 points, which was both his new career high and the most points scored in any quarterfinal game in two years. Kulagin downed 4 of 7 two-point shots, 4 of 8 threes and 12 of 12 free throws on the night. He added 4 rebounds and 9 fouls drawn to amass a 34 PIR, another personal best in his second EuroCup season. The player with the highest PIR in this round was Devin Booker of FC Bayern Munich, whose index rating of 37, despite his team's road loss to UNICS Kazan, was the best in any quarterfinals game in almost three years. Booker poured in 29 points on 10-for-13 two-point and 9-for-9 free throw shooting to go along with 6 rebounds and 6 fouls drawn. Evgeny Voronov of Zenit St Petersburg had career highs of 22 points, 8 rebounds and a 32 PIR to help his team beat Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia 91-77. Scottie Wilbekin, who led Darussafaka Istanbul to a semis-clinching road win at Buducnost VOLI Podgorica, came next with a PIR of 29, while Jalen Reynolds of Reggio Emilia (PIR 20) completed the top five individual performances of Game 2.

Individual highs: Stephane Lasme, UNICS Kazan, 4 blocks

Five players – Voronov, Zoran Nikolic of Buducnost, Frank Elegar of Lokomotiv, Reggie Redding of Bayern and Julian Wright of Reggio Emilia – each pulled down 8 rebounds in Game 2. Reynolds of Reggio Emilia took over as the top rebounder for the season by raising his average to 7.6 boards. Malcolm Griffin of Zenit St. Petersburg dished 7 assists in Game 2. Chris Kramer of Lietuvos Rytas leads all qualified players with 7.4 assists per game this season. Voronov and Petar Popovic of Buducnost each collected 3 steals, the most in Game 2. Howard Sant-Roos, who missed Game 2 for Darussafaka, has the best overall average with 2.2 steals. Lasme had 4 blocks against Bayern and leads the season-long charts with 2.4 on average. His total of 44 blocks is tied for a new EuroCup single-season record, which he can break with one more in Game 3 on Wednesday.
