EB Institute Annual Workshops point the way to 2020-21 season!

Preparations for the 2020-21 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and 7DAYS EuroCup seasons will be the focus of club professionals in an array of specialties as the Euroleague Basketball Institute Annual Workshops return over the next two weeks and again in early September.

Vital building blocks for each new season, the EB Institute Annual Workshops take on even greater importance as clubs work to pivot from the incompleted 2019-20 campaign to redouble their efforts to reward EuroLeague and EuroCup fans with a brand of basketball that mirrors, more than ever, their unmatched passion for the game.

The workshops touch on every facet of season preparation from the court to the front offices, including for the first time this year meetings of EuroLeague business area directors and team doctors, bringing the total number of categories covered by top professionals from the clubs and their counterparts at Euroleague Basketball to 14.

For the first time, this season's July meetings will be held virtually by video-conference, continuing the discussions being held at a distance between Euroleague Basketball and member clubs since the 2019-20 season was postponed on March 12 and ultimately cancelled on May 25. Those efforts have included ongoing discussions with collectives representing the players and head coaches, both of whose members will be represented at the EB Institute Annual Workshops, too.

The EuroLeague and EuroCup head coaches will hold their workshops over three days starting on Monday, July 6, each devoting some of that time to meetings with the officiating department of Euroleague Basketball. The players meeting, meanwhile, has been moved to September 8 and coincides with the annual workshop devoted to One Team, the corporate social responsibility program of Euroleague Basketball. In September, the security managers from EuroLeague clubs will also meet together for the first time.
