Moovit to help fans get to Final Four games

Moving around Vitoria-Gasteiz is easy with Euroleague Basketball Mobility Partner's app

Moovit, the leading Mobility as a Service (MaaS) company and the maker of the world’s most popular urban mobility app, will help Euroleague Basketball fans have a smoother journey to the Final Four games held at Fernando Buesa Arena in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, between Europe’s four best basketball teams on May 17 and 19, 2019.

Earlier this year, Euroleague Basketball named Moovit as its official mobility partner for this season. Throughout the entire 2018-2019 season, Moovit has helped hundreds of thousands of fans, who have attended EuroLeague games this season in 13 different metropolitan areas in nine countries, arrive to arenas using public transportation with ease and convenience.

By downloading Moovit’s free app on Android or iOS, both seasoned local transit riders and international fans can take public transportation around Vitoria-Gasteiz with peace of mind, having the best journey information available at their fingertips through their smartphone.

During Final Four weekend, Moovit will also send service alerts in the native languages spoken by fans of the participating teams: Turkish for the fans of Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul and Anadolu Efes Istanbul; Russian for the fans of CSKA Moscow; and Spanish for the fans of Real Madrid.

These alerts will provide fans useful information about any changes in routes or timetables caused by the games. Moovit also will provide easy-to-share links with tailored transport instructions, such as how to arrive at Fernando Buesa Arena in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Moovit will add the arena and FanZone as points of interest on its app, making it easy to find them in the app’s search bar or on the map, and to get step-by-step directions to those locations.

Finally, a special Moovit Direction QR code will be printed on every ticket as well as on printed guides for fans, making it easy to get instant directions to the arena simply by scanning the QR code using a smartphone camera.

"Euroleague Basketball is committed to putting its fans first, including finding the best way to help them get to the Final Four games," Yovav Meydad, Moovit Chief of Growth & Marketing, said. "The organization is so fan-focused, it’s no surprise EuroLeague has asked Moovit to help serve its fans with an improved transport experience. Moovit is excited to enhance the game-day experience for basketball fans during the highlight event of this very exciting season.

"Euroleague is a world-class sports organization and one of Moovit’s major partners. Our collaboration throughout the entire season has helped millions of fans worry less about getting to and from venues so they can enjoy the action and entertainment more when they’re there.”

Roser Queralto, Chief Business Officer at Euroleague Basketball, said: "Moovit has been a great help in getting EuroLeague fans to games all over the continent this season, and will mean even more this weekend to all the visitors to the Final Four in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Euroleague Basketball's every decision is based around serving our fans, and we know that getting to the game is their number one priority. Moovit helps them do it as easily as possible, and that becomes an even bigger comfort when you are a visiting fan in an unfamiliar city. Everyone in Vitoria-Gasteiz for the Final Four will be glad that Euroleague Basketball and Moovit have teamed up to make moving around as easy as if they were at home."

Meydad said Moovit has more than 420 million users worldwide and service in 2,800 cities across 90 countries. “All around the world, people depend on Moovit every day for the best and most comprehensive transport data in one free, intuitive and easy-to-use app, making us the world’s leading Mobility as a Service company.”
