The Crossover with Joe Arlauckas: F4GLORY

Papaloukas, Vujcic discuss CSKA's victory with Joe Arlauckas

The 2019 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four Vitoria-Gasteiz is in the books, and CSKA Moscow is the new champion!

In this special edition of The Crossover, hear immediate postgame reactions from three former Turkish Airlines Euroleague champions: podcast host Joe Arlauckas and a pair of Final Four Ambassadors, former EuroLeague champions Nikola Vujcic and Theo Papaloukas.

All three were in the house at Fernando Buesa Arena when CSKA outlasted a truly worthy finalist, Anadolu Efes Istanbul, by 83-91 on Sunday. Soon after the season's final buzzer, Joe, Nikola and Theo sat down to discuss the championship game in-depth.

"CSKA beat their demons," Vujcic said of the new champions. "Five or six times in the previous years, they were leading, and soon, when the game got close by the other side, they would start shaking. Now, they scored some big shots."

Papaloukas, who won both of his EuroLeague titles with CSKA, saw great composure in his former team.

"It was very important that whenever Efes was coming back and tried to control the game – even when they went up by one point – CSKA showed that they wanted to stick to their plan," he said.

Listeners of The Crossover will also hear what CSKA head coach Dimitris Itoudis and MVP Will Clyburn had to say right after the game, as well as the thoughts of Efes coach Ergin Ataman.

Making its debut earlier this season, The Crossover has gone well beyond the playing court with each podcast to delve into the life experiences that have made his guests protagonists and legends of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.

The Crossover has featured some of the greats of the competition, including Vassilis Spanoulis of Olympiacos Piraeus, Nick Calathes of Panathinaikos OPAP Athens and Kyle Hines of CSKA Moscow, coaches Zeljko Obradovic of Fenerbahce, Pablo Laso of Real Madrid and David Blatt of Olympiacos, and retired stars Nikola Vujcic of Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv and Robertas Javtokas of Zalgiris Kaunas, among others.

The Crossover had two more special-edition podcasts – before the semifinals and before the championship game – from the Final Four in Vitoria-Gasteiz, taking fans every step of the way to the crowning moment of the 2018-19 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season.
