The Journey, Episode 8: The Final Four

In the final episode of The Journey, eight long months of constant striving by 16 teams reach a culmination at the Final Four in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, with the title of Turkish Airlines EuroLeague champion hanging in the balance.

The final episode of the season-long broadcast series that tracked EuroLeague teams from training camp to the Final Four is dedicated to finding out which of them will rise above an entire continent.

"Arriving at this moment talks very good about that journey during the year, because it means that you have been doing great things all season to arrive to play in a Final Four," says Real Madrid head coach Pablo Laso, who returned to his hometown to try to defend the EuroLeague title.

The stakes are high and drama is assured, as those who have been there before can attest.

"You need that heart, you need that passion, you need that fire," CSKA Moscow head coach Dimitris Itoudis says. "And character, the character to be ready no matter what."

Newcomers to the event have their own agenda, however.

"This is why I came back to Europe; I came back to win a championship, and to be in this situation, with this team, and this club that hasn't been there before," Shane Larkin of Anadolu Efes Istanbul says. "It would be a storybook ending."

Viewers of The Journey witness the fanfare of Final Four weekend and hear from legends – one of them very prophetic – who know what it takes to win it all.

"Somehow I have the feeling that CSKA is coming for the first time as an underdog and maybe a lot of people underestimate them," two-time former champion Nikola Vujcic says. "I have a feeling that this could be their Final Four."

Follow the Final Four, step by dramatic step, through a weekend that ends with sporting history being made, in the last episode for the 2018-19 season of The Journey.
