Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season - Round 5 MVP: Lorenzo Brown, Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv
 
An outstanding individual performance in a winning effort has seen playmaker Lorenzo Brown of Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv earn Round 5 MVP honors in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.

Brown led Maccabi to an 85-74 home win against Panathinaikos Athens, amassing a PIR of 33. He finished the game with 22 points on 7-of-10 two-pointers, 2-of-3 three-pointers and 2-of-2 free throws, while he also had 6 rebounds, 9 assists, 2 steals and 5 fouls drawn. This is the second time that Brown has won MVP of the Round, as he was previously chosen as Round 11 MVP in the 2021-22 season while playing for UNICS Kazan. Gabriel Deck of Real Madrid also reached a PIR of 33, but Los Blancos registered a 91-95 home loss against Virtus Segafredo Bologna. Deck had 28 points on 9-of-12 two-pointers, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal and 6 fouls drawn. Elie Okobo of AS Monaco and Chris Jones of Valencia Basket each had a PIR of 28 in Round 6. Okobo led Monaco to a 76-81 road victory against Olympiacos Piraeus with 23 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 fouls drawn. Jones helped Valencia record an 87-73 home win against ALBA Berlin with 20 points, 8 assists and 3 steals. Walter Tavares of Real, with a PIR of 27, completes the top individual performances in Round 5.


Individual highs: Gabriel Deck, Real Madrid, 28 points

Gabriel Deck of Real led all scorers with 28 points in his team's 91-95 home loss against Virtus. Markus Howard of Cazoo Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz leads the standings with an average of 21.5 points per night. Ben Bentil of Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade grabbed 13 rebounds, the most of any player in Round 5. Sasha Vezenkov of Olympiacos is the competition's best rebounder, averaging 9.6 boards per night. Three players - Lorenzo Brown of Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv, Keenan Evans of Zalgiris Kaunas and Luke Sikma of ALBA - each had 9 assists in Round 6. Darius Thompson of Baskonia ranks first overall thanks to his average of 8.0 assists per night. Arnas Butkevicius of Zalgiris collected 4 steals against Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade. Thompson, Thomas Walkup of Olympiacos and Alessandro Pajola of Virtus are currently tied for first place in steals, averaging 2.2 per game. Another Zalgiris player, Kevarrius Hayes, had 4 blocks in Round 5. Chris Koumadje of ALBA leads the 2022-23 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague in blocks at 2.6 per game.
